The 48 years old Paramount Ruler of Iwo Kingdom in Osun State, His Royal Majesty Abduraheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu 1) will next week, Saturday, March 19th 2022, formally takes Princess Firdauz Abdullahi, a niece to the present Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayo, as a wife in an elaborate planned ceremony in Kano.

The marriage ceremony will be held in accordance with Islamic injunctions at the residence of the Madakin of Kano in the ancient city of Kano.

The Oluwo of Iwo kingdom, who sometime in December 2019, separated from his Jamaican wife, after a bitter and rancorous relationship, had a son from his estranged Jamaican wife, whom he named after the progenitor of the Yoruba race “ODUDUWA”. Two years and some months after the failed marriage, the handsome looking Olu of Iwo land has again found love now in Kano city.

A Palace source in Kano gave details of the bride as Princess Firdauz Abdullahi, a 27- years old girl with a stony beauty. She is one of the granddaughters of His Royal Highness, the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, who was the 13th Emir of Kano, The Trumpet gathered.

Sometime in February, 2022, a letter purported to have been authorized by the Oluwo of Iwo, was leaked. In the letter, the Oluwo was soliciting for the assistance of the Osun State Government to tune of N20 million naira to transport and entertain some of the guests that will be attending the marriage ceremony in Kano and Iwo. It was, however, not clear, whether or not the Osun State government agreed to assist the royal father in his marriage plans.

A Spokesperson to Oba Akani (Telu 1) later disclaimed the letter saying, “If this letter in question had emanated from the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, it would have contained the signature and insignia of His Royal Highness, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Tolu 1.”

As matters are now, an Iwo Palace source says, “Although, all arrangements have been concluded, we are not too sure whether or not His Majesty Oba Akanbi Tolu 1, will be physically attending this marriage ceremony. As a king himself, if he likes, he could send a high powered delegation to Kano. As expected the Kano Emirates after conducting the Islamic mirage, will hand over his wife to the leader of that delegation who will turn handover the Oluwo of Iwo his wife.

Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Tolu 1, ascended the throne of his ancestors in November 2015 and married, Ms Chanel Chin, the daughter of a Rastafarian Reggae artiste, Ludlow Chin. Who is better known in Jamaica as Bobo Zaro. The following year 2016 the Oluwo of Iwo married Chanel, sadly the marriage only lasted three years, before things fell apart between the couples.
