Cristiano Ronaldo has signaled that he may part ways with Al Nassr, stating that a “chapter has closed” just hours following the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League.
“This chapter is closed,” Ronaldo mysteriously posted on social media late Monday, sharing an image of himself dressed in an Al Nassr jersey.
“The narrative? Still unfolding. Thankful to everyone.”
The 40-year-old Portuguese striker joined Al Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United, with his agreement set to expire this summer.
A unique transfer period will occur from June 1 to 10, enabling the 32 clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup to acquire new players.
Al Nassr was unable to qualify for the Club World Cup, unlike their Saudi counterparts, Al Hilal.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino mentioned last week that “conversations” are taking place about the former stars of United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Sporting Lisbon participating in the expanded tournament occurring in the United States, beginning June 14.

Last month, Al Nassr fell to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in the semifinals of the Asian Champions League and concluded the Saudi Pro League in third place.
Ronaldo achieved the title of top goal scorer in the league, netting 24 goals.
Last year, the five-time Ballon d’Or recipient expressed that he might finish his playing days with Al Nassr.
In a recent conversation with YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino stated, “And Ronaldo could be playing for one of the teams in the Club World Cup.”
“There are talks with several clubs, so if any team is interested in bringing Ronaldo on for the Club World Cup, who knows, who knows.”
