Acting Executive Secretary of Rivers Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala has commended Governor Siminialayi Fubara for the health programmes in the state, especially the health insurance scheme that is now offering Rivers residents the opportunity to access quality health care services without bearing so much financial hardship.
Agala, who was represented by Dr. Mac-Moses Isaiah gave the commendation during the unveiling of the Project 10M for testing of hypertension and diabetes in Okehi, headquarters of Etche Council, also commended the Chairman of the Council, Dr. Uzodinma Nwafor for his support and acceptance of the health insurance scheme and his desire to have majority of Etche residents enrolled in the scheme, while the council pays the premium for them.
Speaking, Nwafor appealed to the people of Etche Local Government Area to enroll in the programme and ensure that they visit the health facilities to access healthcare whenever they have the need, assuring them that all those enrolled in the programme already have their medical bills settled without the people paying from their pockets.

He said the health insurance scheme, which covers treatments, surgery and caesarean sections fully paid for by the government, is the best gift any loving father can give to his people and applauded Governor Fubara for his magnanimity and interest to have a healthy population in the state.
Nwafor then encouraged the people of the area to come out in their numbers to be part of the enrolment exercise and to always go to the health facilities to access health care, saying that health is wealth.
The event featured massive enrollment of the different categories of enrollees for the health insurance scheme and free medical tests for non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes.
