National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has warned critics of President Tinubu’s administration against underestimating his leadership and dedication to transforming Nigeria, asserting that these critics represent a bygone era with outdated views and unsuccessful records.
Speaking at the National Cybersecurity Conference 2025 in Abuja, Ribadu stated that Nigeria is now safer, more stable, and increasingly appealing for investment due to the reforms and strategic policies implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He dismissed ongoing criticisms from certain individuals as the complaints of “expired” political figures who believe they deserve ongoing relevance, cautioning that Nigerians are now more discerning and will not be influenced by propaganda.
“Things are changing. We are stabilizing the country. Ignore what some are saying — Nigeria is becoming safer and better every day,” Ribadu asserted.
He pointed out significant improvements in security across previously troubled areas, such as the Niger Delta and the South-East, noting that a combination of proactive measures and collaboration with security agencies and technology partners is producing real results.
“The Niger Delta is safer than ever. The South-East is returning to normal. Those inciting unrest from abroad will be tracked down and prosecuted. We will not permit external forces to undermine our progress,” he stated.
The NSA praised President Tinubu’s abilities and leadership, describing him as a “digital, enlightened, and visionary leader” whose administration is paving the way for economic recovery and national renewal.

“We have quality leadership in our country today. Mr. President is a digital leader. He is educated and well-informed. Those who underestimate him do so at their own risk,” Ribadu cautioned.
He criticized opposition figures and media commentators who, he claimed, remain stuck in past politics and have contributed little to nation-building.
“These are individuals who have looted and plundered this country. Now they are shouting on television. They are outdated. Nigeria has moved on — and Nigerians are wiser,” Ribadu remarked.
He urged telecommunications companies, tech innovators, and international investors to engage with the Nigerian market, stating that the country is now positioned as Africa’s digital and economic hub.
“We are collaborating with major telecom operators. Our cybersecurity strategy is robust. Nigeria is safe and open for business. Investors should recognize that Nigeria is the future of Africa,” Ribadu assured.
The NSA emphasized the importance of unity and trust in the current leadership, encouraging citizens to concentrate on the nation’s collective advancement rather than being distracted by the “expired” voices of the past.
