The wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has been kidnapped by armed men in the Arepo area of Ogun State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred as she was about to enter her residence on Aminu Street, while the assailants reportedly fired sporadically during the attack, causing panic in the area.
Four masked men ambushed her, forcibly removed her from her Lexus jeep, and took her through swampy terrain to an unknown location.

The Ogun State Police Command according to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the abduction, said the command has launched an extensive operation to rescue her,
“Reports indicate that she was about to enter her home when four masked men attacked her, dragged her from her Lexus jeep, and took her through swampy areas to an unknown location.
“The state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been briefed on the situation, and covert operations, including digital intelligence, have been initiated to track and rescue the victim.
“Additionally, local security forces in the riverine areas, including Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba, have been mobilized to assist in the rescue mission. Search efforts are currently underway in the surrounding bushes and swampy areas,” Odutola said.
Police authorities assured the public that all resources are being utilized to ensure the victim’s safe return and to apprehend the perpetrators.
