The House of Representatives has announced plans to hold a public hearing on the four key tax reform bills, as part of its commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s tax system.
The hearing is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, February 26, to Friday, February 28, 2025, at Conference Halls 028 and 231 of the House of Representatives, starting at 12:00 noon daily.
The session aims to facilitate broad stakeholder engagement, with participation expected from government agencies, business leaders, tax experts, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and the general public.

Recognizing the importance of these bills to Nigeria’s fiscal framework, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, had constituted a special committee chaired by Rep. James Faleke, to oversee the legislative process.
The committee has members drawn from the House Committee on Finance, and co-opted lawmakers representing all the 36 state, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as those from the six geo-political zones, ensuring a broad-based and inclusive representation.
The House urged all stakeholders, to actively participate in shaping a fair, efficient, and globally competitive tax system that promotes economic growth and sustainability.
