The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has promised to contribute to the revival of the Otamkpa Primary Healthcare Centre in Isiukwuato LGA of Abia State from its present comatose condition.
Ogah, who gave the promise on Friday during a fundraising event put together by the people of Otamkpa for the Primary Healthcare Centre at the second edition of the Otamkpa Cultural Festival, lamented the dilapidated condition of the health facility.
He made it clear that quality healthcare is a fundamental human right of all his constituents.
He also reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all people have access to needed quality health services at an affordable price.

The lawmaker further pointed out that financial mismanagement has remained a clog in the wheel of development in any society. He lamented that the previous administration in Abia State allegedly allowed public facilities to suffer from neglect.
Ogah also knocked some communities for failing in their basic responsibilities of protecting public facilities on their lands, wondering why public properties would be left unkept.
Richard Harrison, who is a former Commissioner in Abia State and an indigene of Otamkpa, said that the fundraising was organised for the rehabilitation and equipping of the moribund hospital during the cultural festival, explaining that the revival of the medical facility would bring healthcare services closer to the people.
