The member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has saluted Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for approving several strategic road projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure development across Isoko land.

Rep. Ukodhiko made the commendation in a statement on Sunday, describing the governor’s decision as a clear demonstration of his administration’s commitment to ensuring balanced development in all parts of Delta State.

The federal lawmaker noted that the approval of the projects by the Delta State Executive Council would greatly enhance movement within Isoko communities and stimulate economic growth in the area.

He listed some of the approved projects to include the construction of Emese Road in Urude community, Ozoro, the reconstruction of Otor-Igho Township Road, the construction of Godwin Ogorugba, Eduje and Matthew Enarube Streets in Otor-Igho, as well as the reconstruction of the Oteri–Igbide–Emede Road.

Rep. Ukodhiko also commended Gov. Oborevwori for the sustained funding of major ongoing projects such as the Emevor–Orogun Road Phase II and the Uzere–Asaba-Ase Road and bridge project, noting that they remain critical to improving connectivity and development in the area.

According to him, the road projects would help address long-standing transportation challenges faced by residents while opening up communities to increased commercial and social activities.

The lawmaker further praised the state government for approving the construction of male and female hostels in nine higher institutions across the state, describing the initiative as a significant relief for students and parents grappling with the high cost of off-campus accommodation.

Rep. Ukodhiko said the hostel projects would provide safer and more affordable housing options for students while also improving the overall learning environment in the institutions.

He added that the governor’s sustained investment in infrastructure reflects the objectives of the administration’s MORE Agenda, which prioritises meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security across the state.

While expressing optimism about the impact of the projects,
Rep. Ukodhiko urged residents of the benefiting communities to support the state government and cooperate with contractors to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the works.

He expressed confidence that when completed, the road projects would improve access to markets and essential services, facilitate the movement of goods and people, and ultimately enhance the quality of life of residents in Isoko North and Isoko South.
