The member representing Isoko Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has called on local government councilors in the constituency to rally grassroots support for Governor Sherrif Oborevwori.

Rep. Ukodhiko made the call, while playing host to the elected councilors at his Erawha-Owhe country home in Isoko North Local Governmentt Area of Delta State.

While thanking the councilors for the support given to the two local government council chairmen and all the leaders of the local government areas, Rep. Ukodhiko said the meeting afforded them the opportunity to rub minds as legislators for the peace and progress of Isoko Nation.

He remarked that the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isoko reposed much confidence on the councilors to hold the grassroots for the progress of the party.

Rep. Ukodhiko enjoined the councilors to always promote the interest of the party and the governor in their respective wards, saying “we must put our interests aside and together work for the unity of Isoko, starting from the wards you represent. Work with all leaders of your wards for sustainable peace and unity.

“For, it is only when we are united as a people that we can turn out massive votes for the governor and other candidates of our great party, the PDP. Unity is both key and important.”

The National Assembly member noted that the state governor has done a lot in Isoko and Delta State in general since assumption of office, through his developmental projects and programmes which have endeared him to the people.

“With what the governor is doing in Isoko and Delta at large, we must put in the work and also, make the necessary sacrifices to help him to put Isoko together and turn out the votes for his victory come 2027.

“Projects worth billions of naira are sited here in Isoko within a short time. We must not forget also the governor is our own in Isoko and also, he married our Isoko sister and daughter, Deaconess Tobore, who is the First Lady of Delta State.

“The governor has done a lot of things in Isoko that are too numerous to count. He gave us the College of Health Technology at Ovrode, the College of Health Sciences at the Southern Delta University, Ozoro, and the completion of the first phase of the Emevor-Orogun Road, and he has approved the contract for the second phase of the road.

“There are several multi-billion naire projects including the Isoko section of the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway, reconstruction of the Isoko Ring Road from Ellu, Ovrode, Ofagbe, Orie-Irri, Uro-Irri and Ada-Irri, the construction of the Olomoro-Igbide Road, the coustruction of the Uzere Asaba Ase Road and bridges, among others connecting the various communities in Isoko Nation.

“The only aspiration that is very important to us and why we must work hard in our capacities as councilors and legislators, the only agenda and aspirations should be to return the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori come 2027.

“As councillors, you should key into the governor’s agenda and, returning the governor for a second term is the best way to reciprocate his good gesture in turning around the fortunes of the state,” Rep. Ukodhiko stated.

Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Pascal Emeluaha and his Isoko South counterpart, Bright Olokor responding on behalf of the councillors, thanked Rep. Ukodhiko for hosting the meeting and for his financial assistance, and support, particularly the purchase of nomination forms for all the councilors.

They pledged to continue supporting Gov. Oborevwori in implementing his agenda at the ward level and support his return as governor to continue the good work he is doing in Isoko and Delta State at large.
