The member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Saturday bagged an excellence award from the Isoko Royal Lions Club for his exemplary humanitarian efforts.
The presentation ceremony held during the installation of Lion Princess Oghale Oweh as the Chartered President of the Isoko Royal Club of the Lion International Region 9, held at the Isoko Development Union (IDU) secretariat in Oleh.
Rep. Ukodhiko while thanking the Isoko Royal Lions Club and its parent body, Lions International Club for what they are doing purposefully towards making the world better, also appreciated God for His kindness and faithfulness, just as he dedicated the award to humanity.
“Everyone should be actively involved in humanitarian service. We are created to be of service to God and humanity.
“Humanitarian service is all about care. Thus, we must do everything to help our fellow human being. And I believe this is what the Lions Club is all about,“ he added.
The House member commended the Lions Club for their many community based initiatives and developmental projects in Isoko nation, Delta State, and Nigeria at large.
Rep. Ukodhiko revealed that “during my time and tenure, the Isoko Royal Lions Club is being established today with Lioness Princess Oghale Oweh as its first president and I’m very happy.”
He reiterated his commitment towards the development of Isoko nation and the empowerment of its people, adding that “our programmes since we were inaugurated as the member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, our programmes are tailored deliberately to help our people.

“I feel humbled and honoured by the award of excellence. I want to assure you all that we will continue to support initiatives by the Lions Club,” Rep. Ukodhiko assured.
The high point of the occasion was the induction of the House of Rep. Ukodhiko and the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme as members of the Lions International Club by Lion Osadebamwen Okoro, the District Governor 404-A4 Nigeria.
The ceremony chaired by Dr. Onojaeme had in attendance the pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Okoro, Chairman of Isoko North Council, Elder Godwin Ogorugba, and business mogul, Chief Eta Enahoro.
