The Leader of the Rivers State caucus in the House of Representatives, Rep. Dum Dekor has bagged the 2025 Leadership Award in Constituents Empowerment.
The award was bestowed on the House member by the Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness (CCLCA) in conjunction with Naijablitznews and Hellosis on Wednesday in Abuja.
Rep. Dekor in his acceptance speech, dedicated the award to his constituents and his political leader, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
He thanked the organisers, his constituents and Wike for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to continue to do more.
Presenting the award to Rep. Dekor, the Director General of CCLCA, Dr. Gabriel Nwambu, assisted by the Associate Editor of Naijablitznews, Ms. Gloria Ikime, described the Rivers State caucus leader as one of the”well grounded” politicians in Nigeria.
Dr. Nwambu said Rep. Dekor, who represents Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House, has throughout his political career emphasized people as the fulcrum of any, and every engagement.
“He believes strongly that to achieve having meaningful and enduring impact on his constituents, and the citizenry, transparency, integrity, and timely feedback in the legislative process are very important.

“Rep. Dekor has touched the lives of people in his past positions and offices in Rivers State. He has not only increased the tempo, but also improved on the qualities of his numerous programmes and projects for his constituents,” the CCLCA boss stated..
Nwambu added that in the past six years, the lawmaker has embarked on infrastructure development, healthcare; education, economic empowerment, and community development for the good people of Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency.
He listed some of the iitiatives and projects facilitated by Rep. Dekor to include rural electrification, provision of potable water, construction and re-modelling of schools, building of ICT centres, and the provision of integrated solar street lights.
Others are grants for agricultural training of women and youths, establishment and upgrade of skill acquisition centres, provision of grants for women and youths in SMEs, training of youths and women in different skills, educational grants, and the award of scholarships to youths in tertiary institutions and secondary schools.
