The drama surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti’s explosive sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio has taken an unexpected turn, as former presidential aide Reno Omokri has come forward with a shocking revelation—she once accused him of the same crime!
As the controversy over the Kogi lawmaker’s Senate seating arrangement spiraled into a full-blown scandal, Natasha Akpoti made headlines by publicly accusing Akpabio of sexual harassment during a live TV broadcast. The allegation has since ignited heated debates, but Omokri is making it clear—he doesn’t want to be dragged into the mess.
In a statement on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Omokri revealed that media outlets have bombarded him with interview requests, seeking his take on Akpoti’s accusations against Akpabio. But instead of staying silent, Omokri dropped a bombshell—he has firsthand experience of what he calls Akpoti’s history of false accusations.
Omokri recounted how, back in 2014, Natasha Akpoti accused him of sexual harassment at Aso Rock Presidential Villa during a state reception for then-Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. But, in a dramatic twist, Omokri says her claims were impossible—because he wasn’t even in Nigeria at the time!
“Unfortunately for Senator Akpoti, during those dates, I was sent to the United States as President Jonathan’s special envoy. I met and was photographed with multiple U.S. officials, including State Department officials, in Washington, D.C.,” Omokri revealed.

To prove his innocence, Omokri went public with hard evidence—a First-Class British Airways ticket and passport stamps confirming he was abroad when the alleged incident took place. The fallout? Akpoti allegedly wiped all traces of her accusations from the internet, deleting her posts and even a video where she allegedly insulted Omokri, his wife, and their newborn daughter.
Omokri further disclosed that the matter was eventually resolved out of court after a respected Christian clergyman intervened. Now, with history seemingly repeating itself, Omokri is urging the media to leave him out of Akpoti’s fresh allegations against Akpabio.
As the controversy rages on, Nigerians are left wondering—will this be another case of a retracted accusation, or is there more to Akpoti’s claims? The political storm is far from over.
