Remo Stars Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, said his team was unfortunate to lose against Niger Tornadoes over the weekend at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium after putting up a tight contest in Kaduna.
Ogunbote stated that regardless of the outcome of the event, the club will fight to ensure its premiership status is intact until the end of the season.
He said: “We never deserved to lose this game but sometimes that is how the game goes.
“The set target is to make sure that Remo Stars sustain our premiership status,” he added.

According to NPFL, the significance of the win seems to have devastated the well-traveled Coach Gbenga Ogunbote who may have adjusted his expectations for the Ikenne based side.
NPFL noted that Remo had started the season with a stretch of unbeaten runs that ended in Gombe and consecutive defeats at home and in Aba saw them drop from the top-three spots, The Trumpet gathered.
While Ogunbote thought his team should not have lost this time to Tornadoes, he gave a hint that the focus may have changed to retaining their place in the top flight.
It’s not an altogether surprising aim for low-hanging fruit as Remo has had two stints in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) seasons apart as they always relegated each time they played in the elite league.
