The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 82 in a London clinic, have been returned to Nigeria and arrived in Katsina State for burial in his hometown of Daura.
The aircraft transporting his body landed at Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport at 1:50 pm local time, marking a somber occasion for the nation.
Accompanying Buhari’s remains were key officials, including Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the Chief of Staff to the President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, who were present to pay their respects.

Upon arrival, the body was received by a delegation of dignitaries, including President Tinubu, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, various ministers, state governors, industry leaders, and the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Additionally, numerous presidential aides and members of the Katsina State Executive Council were also in attendance to honour the late president.
His funeral arrangements are set to commence shortly.
