Aston Villa striker Marcus Rashford is to mise the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury.
The severity of the injury, which prevented Rashford from participating in the FA Cup semi-final loss against Crystal Palace on Saturday, is still under evaluation.
It is not entirely impossible that the 27-year-old, currently on loan from Manchester United, might make a comeback before the conclusion of the Premier League season.
Nonetheless, it appears more probable that he will concentrate on recuperating for England’s fixtures in June, a World Cup qualifying match with Andorra and an exhibition game against Senegal.
Should he return before that time, Rashford’s last league match of the season would be against Tottenham on May 18, as he is ineligible to participate in Villa’s concluding game of the season against United on May 25.

On Saturday, Rashford attended the notable boxing event featuring Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He has already made up his mind to delay any discussions about his future with clubs until later this summer.
Rashford’s contract with United extends through 2028, but he does not anticipate playing for the team again while Ruben Amorim serves as manager.
He was called back to the England squad during Thomas Tuchel’s first selection as manager in March, after being left out of the Euro 2024 team.
