American hip-hop rapper Kanye West has announced an official change in his name for the second time from ‘Ye’ to ‘Ye Ye’.

In 2021, Kanye West officially changed his name to Ye, and he has now updated it again.

Documents sourced by Page Six reveal that his Chief Financial Officer, Hussain Lalani, filed under the new name ‘Ye Ye’ in California.

Previous filings identified his name as ‘Ye West.’ All his businesses, such as Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc., now feature his latest name in the “manager or member name” field.

Publicly, Ye Ye has not yet announced his new name via social media. Page Six has attempted to reach out to West’s representative for a statement but has not received a response yet.

Earlier this month, the multi-Grammy award winner announced on X that he would no longer use his account associated with his birth name.

“Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye,” he tweeted on June 1.

“Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is.”
Previously, his records indicated his name as ‘Ye West.’

His businesses now show the updated name under “manager or member name.”

In March 2024, West’s chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, sent a letter insisting that West should be addressed as Ye rather than his previous name.

Previously, in 2018, the father of four had declared on X that he would now be known as Ye.

“The being formerly known as Kanye West. I am YE,” he stated back then.

That name also appeared as the title of his 2018 album, which he dedicated months to recording at his Wyoming ranch.

Three years later, he submitted paperwork for an official name change for “personal reasons,” according to records from that period.

The father of four mentioned on X in 2018 that he would be going by Ye.

Two months afterward, a judge sanctioned West’s name change to Ye.

In March 2024, Milo Yiannopoulos, the Yeezy founder’s chief of staff, wrote demanding that West be referred to as Ye instead of his “slave name.”

“Ye is one of the most recognizable people in the world, on par with presidents and popes,” a letter acquired by Page Six stated at the time.

Three years after that, a judge gave approval for the request from the “All of the Lights” emcee as he followed the process to change his name legally.

In March 2024, Yiannopoulos insisted in a letter that West be referred to as Ye, rejecting his previous name.

He did not arrive at the choice to alter his name, possibly giving up some of the significant worth associated with the ‘Kanye West’ brand, without considerable thought.

The modification was carried out entirely, in accordance with the law, and is now permanent. This is his identity moving forward. He is known as Ye.

The right-leaning political analyst, 40, mentioned that he is urging “streaming services, publishers, retail outlets, labor organizations, lyric websites, and data vendors” to implement this change since they represent some of “the most prominent platforms.”

“The letter further stated that he has often labeled it as his enslavement name,” it added.

“Ye is an African American man seeking the right to complete self-determination, similar to everyone else.”
