R. Kelly is seeking to be released from prison, claiming that his life is in imminent danger due to threats from an Aryan gang.
His legal team has filed an urgent motion for his release.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Kelly’s attorneys assert they have evidence of a murder-for-hire scheme involving prison officials and another inmate, aimed at having him killed in the North Carolina prison where he is serving a 30-year sentence for sex offenses.
The legal team has presented a sworn statement from a terminally ill inmate and Aryan Brotherhood leader, Mikeal Glenn Stine, who alleges that authorities offered him his freedom in exchange for murdering Kelly.
According to the claims, the plan involved Stine killing Kelly and then being charged for the crime, with prison officials supposedly intending to mishandle the evidence to cover it up.

Stine alleges that an official suggested he could be transferred and allowed to escape after the murder.
In March, Stine reportedly approached Kelly’s area in the prison with the intention of carrying out the murder but ultimately decided to alert Kelly about the plot, stating that prison officials had ordered the hit.
Stine has expressed his willingness to take a lie detector test and testify about the situation.
Kelly’s legal team warns that the situation has escalated, as another member of the Aryan Brotherhood has now been instructed to kill both Kelly and Stine, with more gang affiliates present in the prison.
