Greensprings Digital University has officially appointed Professor Boyomo Assala Laurent-Charles as its Vice Chancellor, a move seen as a major boost to the institution’s academic and administrative leadership. Professor Boyomo, a globally respected scholar and administrator, brings over four decades of experience in university administration and teaching across Cameroon and France.
Born and educated between Cameroon and France, Professor Boyomo holds an impressive academic portfolio. His educational journey began with an Advanced Diploma in Journalism from the University of Yaoundé in 1977, followed by a Diploma from the French Institute of Management in Dijon. He went on to earn a Doctorate in Press Communication from the University of Paris II, along with several advanced diplomas in management, communication, and political science. In 1996, he was accredited to supervise research at the prestigious Paris II Sorbonne.
Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Boyomo has taught Information and Communication Sciences, Sociology, Political Science, and Management at the University of Yaoundé II. He also served as a professor at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), focusing on social policies, and at the Institute for Training in Demographic Research, where he worked extensively on advocacy and communication studies. His teaching experience also extends to the Universities of Douala and Yaoundé I.

With more than 40 years dedicated to higher education, Professor Boyomo is a leading figure in academic administration. He previously served as Deputy Director and Director of the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC) at the University of Yaoundé II, cementing his reputation as one of the most influential voices in African media and communication studies.
Beyond teaching and administration, Professor Boyomo has made significant contributions to global academic research. He has been a member of numerous scientific committees and editorial boards of international journals. His research and publications cover wide-ranging fields such as media economics, media sociology, media law, advertising, popular science, political anthropology, and public policy.
His appointment as Vice Chancellor of Greensprings Digital University marks a new era for the institution, which is rapidly emerging as a hub for digital education and innovation in Africa.
