The apex lgbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has given Mrs. Tracy Ohiri, the source of the N200milluon and sexual harassment allegations against the Minister of Works, David Umahi, a 48-hour ultimatum to present evidence to substantiate her claims.
Ohanaeze described the N200m debt and sexual allegations made against Umahi by Mrs. Ohiri as ludicrous, baseless, and politically motivated.
Mrs. Ohiri had last week in a viral video, accused Umahi of a N200m indebtedness and sexual harassment.
In a joint statement issued on Monday by the factional President-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Chief Thompson Ohia, the spokesperson, respectively, Ohanaeze said the allegations by Mrs. Ohiri were not only laughable, but an attempt at cheap blackmail, orchestrated with malicious intent to impugn the integrity of the minister.
“We hereby issue a clear directive to Ms.Tracy Ohiri, the source of these baseless accusations, demanding that she present unequivocal evidence to substantiate her claims within 48 hours.
“Failure to do so will result in substantial repercussions in accordance with our Igbo norms and traditions.
“Furthermore, we insist that Ms. Ohiri disclose the individuals behind her allegations and extend an unreserved apology to Senator Umahi for this unwarranted attack on his character.
“The allegations surrounding a purported debt of N200 million naira owed to Ms. Ohiri for the supply of electioneering promotional materials during Senator Umahi’s 2014 gubernatorial campaign raise significant questions about her motives.
“It is indeed striking that for a span of 11 years—specifically from 2014 to 2025—Ms. Ohiri remained silent, refraining from pursuing legal action or seeking justice through the appropriate channels available to her.
“This conspicuous silence beckons an inquiry into whether she is, in fact, following a carefully scripted narrative crafted by opposition forces, or if her actions are driven by a personal vendetta against a principled leader intent on ameliorating Nigeria’s infrastructure deficiencies.

“We cannot and will not condone the blackmail of our patriotic leaders, especially those who have steadfastly represented the interests of the Igbo people, including Senator Umahi—an exemplary national leader.
“Our organization is poised to implement heightened penalties for anyone daring to tarnish the reputation of our esteemed leaders, including legal action and traditional sanctions.
“These measures are designed not merely as a reaction, but as a powerful deterrent against future attempts to undermine the progress we are forging in the South-East, particularly concerning the ongoing infrastructural revolution and the rehabilitation of federal roads vital to our community’s development.
“Moreover, we are aware of credible intelligence suggesting that certain Northern opposition politicians, in collusion with internal Igbo collaborators, are aiding Ms. Ohiri in this insidious effort to besmirch Senator Umahi’s reputation.
“Therefore, we reiterate our ultimatum: should Ms. Ohiri fail to substantiate her allegations within the specified 48-hour period, we shall seek to impose appropriate sanctions against her,” Ohanaeze said.
