The Tomorrow Is Here Movement, a political support group aligned with Peter Mbah, has intensified its grassroots mobilisation drive with the inauguration of its Udenu Local Government Area chapter in Enugu State, urging members to secure every vote ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration, held at Obollo Affor Market, drew party loyalists, community leaders, and government officials, underscoring the growing political momentum around the movement.

President of the group, Chief Tony Okonkwo, described the Udenu chapter as a reflection of the expanding reach of the organisation, positioning it as a key platform for political awareness and citizen engagement at the grassroots level. He said the movement is committed to aligning with the development agenda of the state government while serving as a link between leadership and the people.

Okonkwo highlighted ongoing projects under the current administration, with particular emphasis on the Smart Schools initiative, which he said requires active community ownership to ensure sustainability. He called on residents to protect public infrastructure and remain actively involved in governance processes.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Energy and Mines, Chief Enyinaya Ogbonna, praised the governor’s leadership, describing it as transformative and inclusive. He noted that the movement stands apart from conventional political structures by prioritising the interests of ordinary citizens and encouraging broad participation in governance.

The Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, reinforced the message through an interactive engagement session, urging continuous public sensitisation on government policies and programmes. He stressed that awareness and participation remain critical to the success of ongoing reforms.

Chairman of Udenu Local Government, Chief Aka Eze Aka, commended the initiative, noting that such engagements help bridge the gap between government and rural communities. He pledged support for the movement and signalled his intention to formally associate with it.

In his remarks, the local coordinator of the movement, Chief Michael Urama, applauded the administration’s infrastructure strides, citing improved transportation services and broader access to governance as signs of progress.

The event also featured youth engagement activities, including the award of a scholarship to a young participant, reflecting the group’s focus on education and human capital development.

With political activities gradually building ahead of 2027, the expansion of the movement signals a renewed push to consolidate grassroots support and strengthen voter mobilisation across Enugu State.
