In a major move to reshape the leadership of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a new list of executives for the commission. This development was disclosed in a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President.
The reshuffled list introduces significant changes to the commission’s leadership. Dr. Emeka Nworgu replaces Hon. Emeka Atuma as chairman, marking a notable shift in the direction of the board. Furthermore, all three initially nominated executive directors have been replaced, with two additional executive directors joining the team.
Among the changes, Stanley Ohajuruka now takes over as the Executive Director of Finance, replacing Anthony Ugbo, while Toby Okechukwu steps in as the Executive Director of Projects, succeeding Obinna Obiekweihe. Chief Sylvester Okonkwo assumes the role of Executive Director of Corporate Services, filling the position previously held by Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja.

Other retained members include Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Hon. Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu, Nasiru Usman, and Hamma Adama Ali Kumo. Also retained are Edward David Onoja, Orure Kufre Inima, and Chief (Mrs.) Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma.
These nominations are subject to Senate confirmation.
