President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Friday present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly, barring any last-minute changes.
A formal announcement is expected to be made when plenary sessions resume in the House of Representatives on Thursday, informing lawmakers and National Assembly staff of the President’s scheduled visit.
In a letter dated December 17, 2025, and signed on behalf of the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, it was confirmed that the budget presentation will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

The letter also outlined security and logistical arrangements for the event. All accredited individuals were directed to be at their duty posts by 11:00 a.m., after which access to the National Assembly complex would be restricted.
Non-accredited persons were advised to stay away from the complex, while staff members were instructed to park their vehicles in designated areas.
The annual budget presentation marks the formal submission of the Federal Government’s proposed expenditure plan for the 2026 fiscal year to the legislature for consideration and approval.
Following the presentation, the Appropriation Bill will be referred to the relevant committees of the National Assembly for detailed scrutiny, public hearings, and possible amendments before final passage.
