Southampton newbie Joe Aribo said that the move to English Premier League is a fulfilment of a dream.
The Super Eagle midfielder, who opened the scoresheet against Frankfurt in Seville during the Europa League final admitted that he was overwhelmed after getting the goal.
According to the former Charlton Athletic midfielder who joined Rangers in 2019 for a deal worth 300,000 pounds, Gers will always occupy a special place in his heart.
During his time at Ibrox, the Super Eagle was able to entrench himself into the club, with the fans not exempted from reciprocating attractions likewise.
Rangers signed Aribo for 600,000 pounds, a deal Gers made a substantial amount of money having sold the player to Southampton this summer for 6,000,000 pounds.
“I don’t think words can actually describe how I felt out there. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to celebrate,” Aribo
responded when asked how he felt about the goal he scored in the Europa League final.
“I literally, didn’t know what to do. I remember I saw my family who were right there. And even in that, just seeing them celebrating was an amazing feeling,” he admitted.

The Super Eagle added that he is still relishing his stay at Rangers because the idea of leaving has not overwhelmed him.
He continued: “Rangers are a real family. It holds a big place in my heart. The fans are amazing as are my teammates and the staff.
“Leaving hasn’t actually sunk in yet. And that’s the thing with me. I don’t really let moments get to me too much,” the Southampton newbie added.
Aribo won the Scottish Premiership last two seasons with Steven Gerrard and lifted the Scottish Cup with Giovanni van Bronckhost the following season.
“That season was just honestly crazy,” Aribo commented on Steven Gerrard’s time.
“We were just going into games feeling like we could overpower anyone. We could beat anyone.
“That was a really good season for us and it showed how good we can actually be when we put our mind to it,” the Nigerian midfielder stated.
More so, Aribo stressed that the move to the Premier League was a dream come true.
