The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a temporary power outage affecting the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) as part of a planned maintenance exercise. This will impact several communities across the Benin/Irrua/Etsako transmission line on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
In an official statement, Ndidi Mbah, General Manager of TCN, revealed that the maintenance activity is scheduled to take place between 9 AM and 12 Noon. The key focus of this operation is to clear vegetation along the 132 kV transmission line to ensure improved efficiency and safety.

Residents in affected areas, including Agenebode, Ehor, Uzebba, Agbor, Ubiaja, Agbede, Agor, and Fugar-Bode, will experience temporary electricity interruptions during this period. The BEDC has urged customers to bear with the inconvenience, emphasizing that the maintenance is critical for uninterrupted power delivery in the long term.
The TCN and BEDC regret the disruption and assure residents of their commitment to minimizing future inconveniences through proactive infrastructure management.
