In a shocking discovery that has sent shockwaves through the Agbarho community of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, security operatives from the Ughelli Area Command and the Agbarho Police Division have recovered the decomposing corpses of two young men believed to be victims of ritual killings. Two others, who were reportedly on the brink of death, were rescued from the same apartment.

The incident came to light after neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from a one-room apartment suspected to be a “hustling kingdom” (HK)—a common term associated with internet fraud syndicates. Police investigations revealed the room was rented by a suspected fraudster who allegedly lured the victims under the guise of working as HK boys, only to use them for ritual purposes.

Sources within the community claim the suspect murdered two of the boys and subjected their bodies to chemical treatment in an attempt to mask the smell of decomposition. The surviving victims, who were severely weakened by prolonged exposure to toxic fumes, were reportedly left in the same apartment as their deceased counterparts.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the house, located near First Baptist Church in the Okah area of Agbarho, became the center of police activity when concerned neighbors reported the suspicious odor. Security operatives stormed the scene, uncovering the lifeless bodies and rescuing the remaining victims. According to one account, “They were three young boys; two were killed in an alleged ritualistic manner, and their bodies were dumped inside the house after being treated with chemicals to suppress the smell.”

Further details suggest that the suspect intended to complete the ritual killings but was thwarted by vigilant neighbors who alerted authorities. One of the suspects reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

When contacted, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident. However, he stated, “The cause is not known yet,” leaving room for further investigation into the motives and circumstances surrounding the gruesome act.
