The Delta State Police Command has arrested members of a robbery syndicate who pose as tricycle operators, targeting passengers at night.
The suspects caught on January 3, 2025, were found with two locally made guns, live cartridges and stolen mobile phones.
Police spokesman in the state, SP Bright Edafe, who revealed this in a statement in Asaba, added that police operatives also arrested two car snatchers, Junior Emmanuel (33) and Julius Samuel (28), who confessed to the murder of a cab driver in Osubi, on December 15, 2024.
Edafe stated that the suspects had lured the taxi driver into a trap, strangled him, and dumped his body, leaving a female victim stranded in the bush.
He said the arrest of the suspects on January 2, 2025, led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles.

In another development, he said the police command has arrested a 26-year-old barber, Volte Bale, for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy for two years.
Similarly, a 25-year-old woman, Blessing Oghenefejiri, has been arrested for child trafficking after she deceived a family into giving away a six-week-old baby under false pretenses
SP Edafe commended residents of the state for providing crucial information to the police that facilitated the arrests of all the suspects.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the police to promote a culture of justice and crime prevention, while urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
