The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has begun a search for the people who attacked a herdsman in Etoi Village, Uyo Local Government Area.
The police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, shared this information in a statement released in Uyo on Saturday.
“The Akwa Ibom Police have started a thorough investigation and search for a group of people involved in attacking, threatening, and stealing from a herdsman,” John explained.
According to him, the police on September 11, received an emergency call from a man in Etoi Village.
He the man reported that a herdsman was being held captive in the bush and that one of his cows had been killed by unknown attackers.
“Once the police received this information, they quickly sent officers to the scene. However, the attackers fled when they saw the police, leaving behind six bags of cow meat.

“Fortunately, the herdsman was able to escape with the rest of his cattle. When Prince Ahmed Aliyu, the secretary of the Cattle Dealers Association of Akwa Ibom, was reached, he confirmed that the cow that had been killed belonged to a man named Alhaji Siddiki Makaka.
“The six bags of meat that were recovered have since been returned to the owner, the police statement said.
John emphasized that the police are dedicated to ensuring the safety and protection of all citizens and are working hard to find those responsible for the attack.
He also encouraged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help the police.
