The Kano State Police Command said it has recovered seven stolen vehicles, through its Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) platform.
Spokesperson of the command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday evening, said the recoveries were made following different complaints lodged through the platform.
He said a white truck Howo was reportedly stolen from Ririwe in Doguwa Local Government Area of the state on January 17, 2025, and recovered in Lokoja, Kogi State, while a black Honda Accord 2013 model, reported stolen from Abuja on January 18, 2025, was recovered at Airport Road, Kano.
Also, a white Mercedes Benz GLK, stolen from Magwan Road, Kano on January 27, 2025, was recovered at Hotoro Quarters, in the state, and a Toyota Corolla LE, red in colour, reported stolen from Abuja on January 30, 2025, recovered at Kano.

The other recovered vehicles include, a black Toyota Camry, reported stolen from Kaduna on January 27, 2025, and recovered at Kano, a white Toyota Hilux, reported stolen from Katsina State on February 15, 2025, and recovered at Ring Road By-pass, Kano, and lastly, a Pontiac Vibe, dark ash in colour, reported stolen from Katsina State on February 15, 2025, and recovered at Ring Road By-pass, Kano.
Kiyawa however, noted that all the vehicles recovered have been handed over to their rightful owners, maintaining that police e-CMR platform has proven to be an effective tool in the fight against vehicle theft.
He further advised residents to utilise the platform to register their vehicle, as this will help in checkmating vehicle theft and other related cases.
