Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recorded multiple breakthroughs in their ongoing clampdown on criminal activities across the state, intercepting a truck loaded with suspected illicit drugs and recovering firearms from criminal hideouts.
A statement from the command said the interception followed a stop-and-search operation by the Eagle Net Special Squad, Asaba, led by SP Danyaya Yunusa, in collaboration with the office of the executive assistant to the governor on illicit drugs and human trafficking.
The patrol team reportedly flagged down a truck with registration number 3BGT 18LG, driven by Dennis Uruma, aged 52, from Igalamela Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Upon inspection, the officers discovered a large cache of substances believed to be illicit drugs.
The driver was immediately taken into custody while the items were being counted and documented at press time.
In a related development, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), led by CSP Nosa Alex, carried out a coordinated raid on a criminal enclave around the Basket Market area of Asaba on October 3, 2025, following credible intelligence.

His accomplice escaped into an uncompleted building during the chase.
A locally made pistol was recovered from the scene, while preliminary investigations linked the suspect to the Arobaga secret cult group.
