Rivers State Police command on Thursday said it recovered 145 assorted guns, pistols and rifles from January to August 2025.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command through the Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.
The statement also said that 33 suspects were arrested and 115 vehicles recovered within the period under review.
A breakdown of some of the guns, rifles and pistols shows that 66 locally made guns, 10 English pistols, 8 revolver pistols, 21 AK47 rifles, 34 pump action rifles,etc were recovered.
Also recovered were 67 cartridges, 15 conventional ammunition, 8,000 ammunition and 4 magazines.

The 33 suspects were involved in various crimes ranging from cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, human trafficking, murder and piracy.
The statement attributed the successes recorded within the period to the robust synergy among all the arms of security agencies in the state.
It restated the commitment of the state police command to the safety and security of all citizens and residents.
“These operations reflect a broader strategy to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public confidence in law enforcement agencies, especially as it concerns the upcoming chairmanship/councillorship election.
“We appeal to the members of the public to partner with the security agencies in giving credible information to serve you better.
