It was learnt that he was killed during a counter-kidnapping operation, aimed at dismantling a violent syndicate terrorizing the FCT, and neighboring states.

According to a press release by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, operatives intercepted, and arrested Mohammed on March 3, 2025, at Gidan Abe Forest, while he was en route to Bwari Area Council.

She explained that the 21-year-old, identified as a hitman for bandit leaders in Rijana Forest, Kaduna State, was responsible for multiple kidnappings, and ransom extortions along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway.

According to the statement, during the operation, the suspect attempted to flee, abandoning his belongings.
Items recovered include, an AK-49 rifle with two magazines, 60 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and N3 million, suspected to be proceeds from kidnappings.

Investigations linked Mohammed to several high-profile abductions, including attacks on villages in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where security personnel, and civilians were kidnapped and killed.

“Acting on intelligence from the captured suspect, police operatives launched a high-risk raid on March 4, targeting his gang’s hideout in Kwasau Forest, Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

“The operation took a deadly turn, when the police team was ambushed by armed bandits attempting to free Mohammed.

“A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the criminals to retreat with severe injuries. Mohammed sustained fatal gunshot wounds inflicted by his own gang during the crossfire. He was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

“Mohammed was part of a larger network loyal to the notorious bandit leader Dogo Gide. His gang reportedly collaborated with the Ansaru terrorist group for arms, and ammunition supply. Key figures in the syndicate include, Boka – overall commander (now deceased),” the statement added.
