The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two men for alleged cross border drug smuggling, recovering 197 sachets of tramadol during a border security operation.
The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Muhammad Mustapha from Dorayi in Kano State and 48-year-old Muhammad Sanusi of Garoua, Cameroon, were apprehended by operatives of the border patrol unit at Fufore, while on routine patrol.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the drugs were transported from one of the states in the South-East and routed through Adamawa State en route to Cameroon before being intercepted by security personnel.

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, praised the vigilance and professionalism of the border patrol unit officers involved in the operation.
He subsequently directed the command’s monitoring unit to assume control of the case for thorough investigation and appropriate legal action.
The command reaffirmed its resolve to combat drug trafficking and other trans-border crimes, pledging sustained efforts to rid the state of illicit activities.
