The young fan who was manhandled by security for getting too close to Lionel Messi late last month also faced a reprimand from the police, according to TMZ Sports.
The reports obtained through a body camera footage from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department showed the moments after Ramsey Khatri was ejected from Inter Miami Stadium on May 25 for approaching Messi at a youth soccer event after which the police criticized him for his reckless actions.
One officer initially questioned why the 18-year-old even attempted to get near the soccer star before chastising him for calling 911 to report how security had treated him.
“Brother,” the officer said. “You ran after Messi, this happened to you, and you called the police? Come on, man.”
Khatri attempted to defend his actions, expressing his admiration for Messi and claiming he never thought anything bad would happen.

However, the officer was not convinced, responding, “Come on, man. You knew. You see videos online. You’re a fan, bro. You know how it goes.”
As a result of the incident, Khatri was banned from the stadium, and according to the police footage, he was unable to retrieve his hat and glasses that he lost during the altercation.
He also mentioned experiencing some pain in his wrist and neck but chose not to go to the hospital.
Ultimately, the officer let him go without further reprimand, stating that stadium security would take care of the situation moving forward.
