The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the murder of Mr. Thomas Godwin, popularly known as ‘Zamfara’, which occurred on the night of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Preliminary investigations according to the command suggest that the victim was attacked by unknown assailants.
The deceased was reportedly beaten with sticks and clubs, resulting in his death.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, has directed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to launch a full-scale investigation into the incident.
A team of detectives, as announced by the police commissioner, has been deployed to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly identified and brought to justice.
The police commissioner urged the public to provide any useful information that may assist the investigation.
