The police has announced the graduation of 10, 000 newly recruited constables from its various training institutions across the country.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the achievement underscores the police’s commitment to bolstering its personnel strength and capacity to provide effective policing services nationwide.
The passing-out parade of the graduating constables will take place today (January 23, 2025), at four police colleges and 12 training schools across the country.
The event will be presided over by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who will serve as the reviewing officer.
The police added that the newly trained constables had undergone rigorous physical and mental training, designed to prepare them to tackle the complex security challenges facing the nation, while adhering strictly to the principles of the law.

According to the statement, Egbetokun expressed confidence in the new officers, emphasizing their readiness to uphold professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service.
He further expressed the confidence that their deployment to state commands across the country will enhance community engagement, improve crime response, and strengthen public safety measures.
“This milestone marks a significant step towards improving policing and fostering better relationships between the police and the communities they serve,” Egbetokun stated.
