A new vigilante group has been formed in Edo State by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in- charge of Zone 5, Arungwa Nwazue.
The assistant inspector general made this known in a statement released by Tijani Momoh, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, in Abuja on Monday.

Nwazue said the vigilante group, known as Edo State Police Vigilante Group (ESPVG), is to assist the police in gathering crucial information from the grassroot level so as to ensure tightly sealed security.
Although, their way of operation would be unveiled soon, he urged residents of the state to cooperate with the police, and the new vigilante group to secure lives and properties.
