The Zamfara State Police Command successfully foiled an attack by bandits in Keta Town, in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state, neutralizing a notorious bandit kingpin identified as ‘Dan Mudale’ in the process.
This was cntained in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Office in Gusau, DSP Yazid Abubakar..
The police said the operation led to the neutralization of several bandits, including the notorious leader known as ‘Dan Mudale’, who has been a source of terror in the area.
Abubakar said that the confrontation the police and the bandits began around 3:40pm on Thursday, following a report from a concerned citizen about a large group of armed bandits intending to cause harm in Keta.

“In response, a collaborative operation was launched, involving the police mobile force, the counter terrorism unit, local hunters, and community protection guards.
“This team engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
Tragically, the encounter resulted in the loss of one member of the police mobile force, four members of the community protection guards, and two hunters,” the police statement said.
The police spokesman added that currently, two hunters are receiving medical treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau.
The police reassured the public of their commitment to restoring peace in the area, and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to ensure prompt security response.
