The Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with local security outfits and key stakeholders, said they have successfully dismantled a kidnappers’ den and killing a suspect during a raid in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area.
A statement made available to journalists by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, on Monday, revealed that the criminals armed with offensive weapons, attempted to resist their arrest by opening fire on police operatives.
“However, the officers returned fire, neutralizing one suspect, while others fled the scene. Investigations have so far led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition from the hideout,” the statement said.

It added that the state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, lauded the courage and determination of the police officers and their collaborators who took part in the raid, while urging for sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal activities.
Similarly, the statement said the police boss emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between law -enforcement agencies and the public in ensuring safety and security in the state.
The statement said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, assuring that the police will provide as investigations progress.
