Days after a bomb exploded at a hotel in Kabala community of Kaduna State, the State Police Command has confirmed that another bomb has been safely detonated at Romi axis in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed by the Kaduna Police Command in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige issued on Tuesday.
According to Jalige, at about 11:30pm the command received information about another suspected IED placed at Larry Breeze Bar located at Romi area of Chikun LGA, of the state where a crowd of football enthusiasts were watching a match.
“On the strength of the information, logistics and men were immediately mobilised to cordon the entire location while the EOD unit acted promptly in diffusing the said IED,” he said.
The ASP further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the State urged law-abiding citizens of the state to go about their normal businesses as there is no cause for alarm.
“Investigation into the two separate incidents has since commenced to unravel those behind the crime,” the statement added.

Earlier, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai raised an alarm that terrorists have concluded plans to launch bomb attacks against residents of the State.
Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan made the disclosure in a statement on Monday. Adding that the terrorists are planning to attack public facilities such as schools, hospitals, hotels, bars, entertainment centres, restaurants, parks, major roads and places of worship.
“The Kaduna state government wishes to issue a crucial advisory to citizens across the state for alertness to the threat of explosive devices planted in public places by terrorists.
“This follows sustained assessments by security agencies and the possibility of terrorists looking to harm residents. Such public facilities include schools, hospitals, hotels, bars, entertainment centres, restaurants, parks, major roads and places of worship,” he said.
The government advised Kaduna residents to call the Security Operations Room via 09034000060 and 08170189999 when the need arises.
