The Enugu State Police have detained three people suspected of being involved in criminal activities and have recovered weapons, a motorcycle, and other items during recent operations.
Spokesperson for the police, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said the action is part of ongoing efforts to tackle armed robbery and violent crimes in the area.
He said that on August 20, police officers from the Agbani Area Command arrested one suspect and found a locally-made gun with him.
They believe the suspect is linked to a robbery in Nara Unataeze.
Additionally, on August 18, officers from the Udenu Police Division caught two suspects in Obollo-Afor.
During questioning, one of them admitted to stealing a motorcycle. From the suspects, the police seized a motorcycle, a homemade gun, a live cartridge, a battle axe, a cutlass, three solar panels, a solar battery, a solar light, and an item that is possibly a charm.

The police plan to take the suspects to court once their investigations are complete.
Ndukwe encouraged the public to share any useful information with the police to help prevent crime and improve safety in the community.
He emphasized that the state Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, is dedicated to eliminating criminal activities in Enugu State.
