Police boss reaffirms IGP’s commitment to welfare of retired, serving officers

The Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, Emmanuel Bretet, has reiterated the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun’s commitment to improving the welfare of both serving and retired police officers.

Bretet gave the assurance during a recent meeting with the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (ARPON).

This was contained in a statement issued in Jalingo by the acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, James Saminu.

The statement said the commissioner of police commended the invaluable contributions of retired police officers to national security and emphasised that their welfare remains a priority for the police.

He further noted that the inspector general of police is actively engaging relevant stakeholders to tackle the challenges facing police retirees.

Bretet assured that the state police command would continue to foster a strong relationship with its retired personnel, in line with the vision to build a more secure and united Nigeria.

Earlier, the state ARPON Chairman, Gadna Nicholas, expressed appreciation for the inspector general of police’s dedication to the welfare of retired officers and commended ongoing efforts to address their concerns.
