The Kano State Police Command has assured residents and visitors to the state of adequate security arrangements ahead of the 2025 Maukibi celebration scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement said the command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, has concluded all necessary measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
He said the command extends felicitations to the people of Kano in anticipation of the annual event, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across Nigeria and beyond.

It urged residents and participants to uphold Kano’s reputation for hospitality, peace, and cultural heritage.
While assuring the public of safety, the statement warned against acts capable of disrupting the celebration, including carrying dangerous weapons, drug-related activities, and other immoral behaviors, noting that, offenders shall be arrested and prosecuted.
The police also appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
