The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the abduction of a 22-year-old woman in Tashan Randa village, Fika Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in an official statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dungus Abdulkarim, who described it as a significant breakthrough in the command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain public safety.
According to Abdulkarim, the incident occurred on May 6, 2025, when armed kidnappers stormed the residence of a man identified as Maikudi, abducted his daughter, and injured another young girl during the attack. The kidnappers later demanded a ransom of N5 million for the victim’s release.
Prompt intervention by the police, in collaboration with local hunters, led to the arrest of two suspects: Waiti Bello, 30, and Idrissa Adamu, 35. The security operatives also dismantled the kidnappers’ hideout and successfully rescued the victim.
