The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered firearms and ammunition in separate operations across the state.
The Command disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, highlighting what it described as notable successes in its ongoing efforts to combat violent crime and enhance public safety.
In the first incident, police operatives foiled an attempted armed robbery attack in Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, Warri.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 9, 2026, at about 5:00 a.m., following a distress call reporting an attempted robbery at a private residence. Operatives from ‘A’ Division, Warri, swiftly mobilised to the scene and, in collaboration with community members, cordoned off the area.

During the operation, a suspect identified as Emmanuel Solomon, 38, was apprehended within the premises. A search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barrelled cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges.
Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
In a separate operation on March 25, 2026, at about 1:00 p.m., operatives of the Command’s Raiders Squad, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a stop-and-search exercise along the Benin–Asaba Expressway near Custom Market in Oshimili North Local Government Area.
During the exercise, one Aminu Inusa, 23, was intercepted. A search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol.
The suspect has been taken into custody, while further investigations continue.
Commending the operatives for their swift response and professionalism, the Command urged members of the public to support the police with timely and credible information.
It reaffirmed its commitment to ridding the state of criminal elements and ensuring the safety of residents.
