The Benue State Police Command has apprehended a lecturer at the Joseph Sawuaan Tarka University, Makurdi, Dr. Tersagh Ichor, for allegedly masterminding the kidnap of Mrs. Susan Anyagh.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday in Makurdi and signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene.
The kidnap victim, Mrs. Anyagh, who is the wife of the branch Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the university, Paul Anyagh, was kidnapped on December 7 in Makurdi.

The police said the kidnapped woman was abducted in Makurdi, along the Makurdi-Otukpo Road and held hostage in her vehicle before being taken to an unidentified location.
To guarantee her rescue and apprehend the offenders, the Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabane, directed all patrol officers to conduct stop and search at strategic locations.
The police quoted the kidnap victim as saying that she overheard her abductors conversing on phone with the arrested lecturer, in which he asked the kidnappers to kill her.
