A notorious gang leader, identified as Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Nishi and two others have been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command over the murder of Ibrahim Danfulani.

Spokesperson for the command, Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Monday, identified the other suspects arrested as Buhari Saidu and Musa Suleiman.

Josephine explained that the incident happened on November 27, 2024, and was reportedly fueled by Nishi’s anger over Ibrahim’s intentions to marry a woman in whom the gang leader had made substantial financial investments.

She affirmed that investigations revealed that the trio, armed with knives, ambushed Ibrahim and viciously attacked him, resulting in his death.

Also, the police added that the gang stole 18 cows belonging to the deceased victim as compensation for Nishi’s perceived fianacial losses.

The police disclosed that Idris was tracked and arrested in Nasarawa State, while allegedly planning to recruit new gang members to carry out a sinister plot to return and kill who jilted him.

The statement reads in part: “The FCT Police Command has made a landmark arrest that has put an end to the reign of terror by a notorious gang leader, Abubakar Idris (a.k.a. Nishi) and his accomplices, Buhari Saidu and Musa Suleiman, responsible for the gruesome murder of Ibrahim Danfulani.

“The incident, which took place on the 27th of November, 2024, was a direct result of Nishi’s seething frustration over Ibrahim’s intentions to marry a woman he, Nishi, had heavily invested in financially. Investigation revealed that the trio, armed with knives, brutally attacked Ibrahim Danfulani, resulting in his untimely death.

“But that’s not all, the gang also stole 18 cows belonging to the victim as compensation for Nishi’s perceived losses.

“In a dramatic turn of events, Abubakar Idris, who had fled the scene of the crime, was trailed and arrested in Nasarawa State. He was caught while planning on recruiting new gang members to execute his sinister plot to return and kill the woman.

“The swift and coordinated efforts of the FCT Police Command, in collaboration with residents of the Agaita community in Karu, led to the successful arrest of all suspects, who are now in police custody and will face prosecution to ensure justice is served.”
