A Federal Polytechnic student, Nasarawa, has been arrested by the police for allegedly hacking a fellow federal polytechnic student to death.
The incident, which occurred following a violent altercation, was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, in a statement issued in Lafia on Sunday.
Nansel said the police received a complaint from a resident, Madam Mercy-Bassey, about a fight between two of her tenants.
Upon arriving at the scene, detectives found Ibrahim Matthew (student), a part-time ND2 computer science student, lying in a pool of blood.
The victim was rushed to the general hospital in Nasarawa Town, but was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

The suspect, John Gambo, an ND2 banking and finance student, was swiftly apprehended and reportedly confessed to attacking Matthew with an axe and a knife.
Following the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro Mohammed, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, for further investigation and prosecution.
