The whistleblower in the now controversial land allocations to the sons of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyeson Wike has been arrested by police detectives.
The said whistleblower, a staff of the fresh applications unit of the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS), Mairiga Shaharu, was arrested by police detectives on Tuesday afternoon.
His arrest is coming as part of investigations into the source of the leaked information regarding Wike’s allocation of huge swathes of land in the FCT to his children.
As of Wednesday morning, Shaharu’s location remains unknown, raising concerns from family members about his whereabouts and safety.

A spokesperson for the minister was not immediately available to comment on the arrest.
Documents obtained from the minister’s office and published on June 26 and July 1 indicated that at least 3,822 hectares of land, potentially valued at $6.45 billion, were allocated to his two sons, Jordan and Joaquin.
