Police arrest 8 suspects over cult-related killings in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight suspects over cult-related killings around the Yaba College of Technology and its surrounding areas.

The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led tactical operation on April 29, 2025.

According to the police, the suspects identified as Adeyemo Abdulsamad, alias Cloud, Afeez Enitan, Ayomide Daniel, Olamilekan Adeagbo, alias Skinny, Mayor Samson, Basit Ishola, Quadri Sikiru, and Mariam Salihu are believed to be linked to violent cult activities that have plagued the area in recent weeks.

Police operatives recovered a cache of weapons during the raid, including one Beretta pistol, four 9mm rounds of ammunition, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, praised the swift and coordinated efforts of the command’s tactical units and the Eko Strike Force.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, especially around educational institutions.

“Our tactical operatives are working around the clock to dismantle criminal networks and cult groups that threaten public safety,” said Jimoh.

“We urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to the nearest police station.”

Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in an official statement, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in cultism and related violent crimes.

He reassured the public that the suspects will face the full weight of the law as the police continue their crackdown on cult-related violence across the state.
