The police say they have recorded significant successes in its fight against crime, arresting 21 suspects in an operation in Taraba State, where it recovered arms and ammunition from the suspects, while in Oyo State, its operatives rescued three kidnapped victims.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Wednesday, said the police have intensified efforts in combating organized crime across the country.
In Taraba State, he said police operatives acting on credible intelligence, raided a criminal hideout at the Wamunchi dry season rice farms, revealing that the operation led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, three Dane guns, a bow and arrow, and a motorcycle.
Also, Adejobi, added that 20 suspects were arrested during the raid, and have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Jalingo, the state capital for further investigation.
Similarly, he said in Oyo State, security forces successfully rescued three kidnapped individuals who had been taken from the palace of a traditional ruler, Tajudeen Inaolaji in Agede Village, in the Moniya axis of Ibadan.
He identified the rescued victims as Hakimat Sadia, Rakyat, and Monsuru Ganiyu, who were abducted on February 24, by a group of 10 armed men.

“A coordinated effort by the Oyo State Police Command, and local security outfits resulted in their safe rescue, and the arrest of one of the suspects.
“In another development, the inspector general of police has ordered the immediate deployment of the Force Intelligence Department – Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) to ensure the safe rescue of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the Afenifere youth leader, who was kidnapped on February 17, while traveling to Abuja.
The police assured the public that all necessary resources, and expertise are being utilized to secure his release, just as the police advised the public to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media, regarding ongoing rescue efforts.
